|

(LOS ANGELES, CA) October 14, 2007 – Saul Levine, President of
the family owned and operated Mt. Wilson FM Broadcasters, announced today
that Michael Jackson, Larry King and Neal Boortz will headline the all
new KGIL 1260 AM “L.A.’s News/Talk Radio,” launching
Monday, October 29.
“
Listeners are eager for talk radio with a balanced perspective,” says
Levine. “And we’re proud to provide it for them with a lineup
replete with trusted, nationally recognized names.”
The move brings about the highly anticipated return of the legendary Michael
Jackson to Southern California radio. A seven-time Emmy and six-time Golden
Mike winner, Radio Hall of Famer and longtime local personality, Jackson
will anchor the weekday lineup with a double daily dose of his provocative
and entertaining style from 9am-11am and 5pm-7pm.
The roster begins at 6am with 50-year broadcasting veteran Larry King and
CNN’s Larry King Live, followed by the acclaimed radio magazine The
Wall Street Journal This Morning from 7am-9am. From 11am-2pm it’s
Libertarian host and best-selling author Neal Boortz as Los Angeles joins
the more than 200 markets nationwide featuring his wildly popular show.
Rounding out the weekday lineup from 2pm-5pm is America’s leading
radio psychologist and author, Dr. Joy Browne. The full service station
will also feature regular updates on local, national and world news, as
well as traffic and weather.
With the new format, the station returns to its historic call letters KGIL,
first established in 1947.
Classical “K-Mozart” moves from 1260 AM and continues 24/7
in digital FM on 105.1 HD 2.
Additionally, the Mt. Wilson FM Broadcasters family includes the new KKGO “Go
Country 105” at 105.1 FM, and through its affiliate, Global Jazz,
Inc., manages programming and support services of California State University
Long Beach’s KKJZ “K-Jazz” 88.1 FM. |
